am Tanasan Kasemsook. I have lived on this earth for 41 years. I
was born in Amphur Proa, Chiang Mai. I graduated with Art degree
and I like to use clay, which is easy to find and closet to me,
as a mean to present my idea and imagination though my hand and
experience in the unique form of pottery.
I am from the North and considered to be a Lanna so I called my team Sala Mor Lanna Chiang Mai (Sala means Skillful craftsman) As a result, my work has a Lanna style which is unique and modern. I try to create my work closet to reality so that it helps bring happiness, peace, beauty and living worth to this earth. You can touch the structure, color and movement of my work with your eyes; the music of the water running with your ears; the rough, slinppery and moist with your skin; and the nature of mos fern with your nose. I believe that mankind is a living species that born after the dinosaur era. Man lives in the planet called earth, having the sun as a central of galexy which give the energy to all the living things on earth, Man has the life cycle form fetus, born as a baby and live through life with the average age of 80. Man differs in race, geography, society and culture but can still live together in all those differences. Regardless of other uncountable living things in the galaxy, Man cannot escape the natural life cycle of Benin born, live and die. But the living would be destined by a man himself. A man is miserable or happy would depends on his ethical mind and behavior. I am trying to create the art form that represent such idea to prevail on this earth before I die. Tanasan Kasemsook |
